Let’s look at some typically problematic areas:
There is very little out there to help hands/wrists and feet/ankles, but people of all ages have problems here as a result of tension. Symptoms reduce with daily self-help. A great example is my Mum’s bunion self-help story. Her two sizeable, painful bunions had bothered her for over 30 years, when I read a short article by an osteopathic surgeon. He knew surgery was not a magic wand, so when his wife developed bunions he gave her foot exercises and undertook a massage programme for her. Her bunions were 'cured’. Although he did not specify which exercises or details of massage, I experimented whilst my Mum embraced the self-help and her bunions were also ‘cured’!! The healing potential of loosening the fascia of feet and hands is effectively our magic wand.

This class started off as a one-off, during the lockdown. The response was so overwhelming and positive that I run a session on the first Saturday of every month, at 9:30am (£6) and an optional weekly 10 minute recording which is sent out on a Sunday (£6 per month). I have received many emails from recipients about the amazing changes they have seen and felt in their extremities, since starting the classes. This class, as far as I know, is UNIQUE and EVERYONE can benefit from doing it.
The weekly classes address the whole body but workshops are useful for a deeper focus on specific body areas, especially if they are problematic. My workshops are on special topics of Bodywork like hands; feet; fascia. Notifications of these appear on Sue Lott Pilates Plus.
In the workshops I demonstrate diverse methods to help the area of focus and offer information about the loosening process. Devoting an entire hour to relatively small areas of the body is a wonderful way to kick start a healing response. The methods I suggest tick my usual boxes – they are cheap, readily available, easy to apply, require no expertise and have no negative side effects if you work with sensitivity, respect and patience.
